My Story
That nagging sense of disconnection you feel? The one that whispers, “Is this all there is?” It’s not going away. You’ve built a life that looks good on the outside—success, stability, maybe even a title you once thought you wanted. But something feels off. You’re not thriving; you’re just getting through it.
I know that feeling well.
On paper, I’d made it—Marketing Director, big salary, the works. But when I looked in the mirror, I saw someone I didn’t recognise. My days were spent compromising who I was just to get through another meeting or another week. I told myself it wasn’t so bad. But deep down, I knew I wasn’t living the life I wanted.
I tried to figure it out. I studied psychology, earned two master’s degrees, trained in counseling, and even started coaching on the side. I wanted to feel purposeful, but I couldn’t pull myself away from the safety of my marketing career. I didn’t think I was good enough to make it on my own.
Then, life made the decision for me.
When I was made redundant, everything fell apart—or so I thought. But in the months that followed, something surprising happened. For the first time, I had the space to think about what I really wanted.
I leaned into coaching, worked through my own fears, and finally started to believe in myself. But it wasn’t until I picked up a woodworking tool—a simple challenge to build bunk beds for my kids—that everything truly clicked.
Woodworking gave me something I hadn’t felt in years: space, focus, and clarity. As I worked, my thoughts slowed. Answers emerged—about my business, my challenges, and even my sense of self. It was a place to reconnect with who I really was.
That’s when I realised the connection between the two things that brought me most alive: coaching and woodworking.
Crafted Leader was born out of that realisation.
This isn’t just about making things with your hands; it’s about what those moments of creation reveal. It’s about stepping away from the noise, rediscovering what truly matters, and crafting a life that feels authentic and aligned with your values.
